Anatolian Delights

Day 1: Arrival.

Arrive at Dalaman International Airport and transfer to your accommodation where you will be met by your host and guide for the week. Enjoy a relaxing stroll around the town and local sites followed by a delicious Turkish meal.

Day 2: Pamukkale and Hieropolis.

Drive on a picturesque mountain road to admire the amazing natural rock formations formed by the water from the natural hot springs at Pamukkale, stopping off for a ‘village breakfast’ on the way. Then drive on to the ancient city of Hierapolis, founded in the Hellenistic era. Explore the ruins, including a magnificent amphitheatre. Spend the night in a spa hotel where you can relax in the natural thermal springs (reputed for their therapeutic properties).

Day 3: Konya

Drive to Konya and visit the impressive Mevlana museum where the famous ‘whirling dervishes’ originate. Enjoy a delicious lunch, then drive on to Cappadocia and settle into a hotel nearby the rock formations the region is famous for.

Day 4: Cappadocia

For early risers, there is the option of taking a hot air balloon ride to experience stunning views over the beautiful ‘lunar’ landscape of Cappadocia. Later, visit the World Heritage open air museum at Goreme where you can explore the churches and dwellings carved into the tuferous rock.

Day 5: Cappadocia

Visit one of the amazing underground cities where the local Christians escaped persecution from the Romans. Then visit the Ihlara Valley and churches dating back to the 2nd century AD.

Day 6: Antalya

Set off for Antalya after breakfast. After checking in to our hotel, visit the old town & museum and the bazaar.

Day 7: Antalya

Transfer to Antalya International airport for your flight.
